The fleet's physics layer now runs on R16, with stability behavior derived from each boat's own certificate: righting moment and reference sailing state, published with a confidence grade or an explicit refusal. Every boat is held to the same evidence standard — where the certificate supports a result, the fleet carries it; where it does not, the fleet says so.

FleetEdge triangulates three independent data authorities — ORC certificate physics, SailEdge Delft-derived force-balance analysis, and empirical race results enriched with ERA5 meteorological data.
The Performance Potential Index decomposes every result into three measurable pillars. Physics potential captures hull and sail plan efficiency. Archetype condition fit (how well the design type suited the conditions it met, ranked against its cohort) is the second. The crew residual (what remains after the boat's evaluated pace is accounted for — negative is faster, in s/nm) is the third — everything the crew controls after physics and weather are accounted for.
