How SailrScience handles data.
This notice covers the FleetEdge marketing website at fleetedge.sailr.science. The SailrScience corporate website and SailEdge publish their own privacy notices for the surfaces they operate.
Data Collection
The FleetEdge marketing website collects minimal visitor data. The site runs no client-side analytics and loads no advertising or tracking scripts — there is no Google Analytics and no advertising-based tracking system. Our hosting provider, Netlify, maintains standard web server request logs for operational and security purposes; those logs may include IP addresses and user-agent strings, and Netlify processes them on SailrScience's behalf as a data processor.
Any visitor measurement SailrScience reviews is aggregate and server-side — page views, referral sources, and geographic regions at the country level. It involves no cookies and creates no individual browsing profiles.
Third-Party Services
Pages on this site serve their typography from this site's own host: the font files are self-hosted and load as part of this site's own Netlify-served traffic, described above — no font request goes to Google or any other font provider. Apart from the Netlify hosting described above, this site loads no external resources and shares no visitor data with third parties.
Cookies
The FleetEdge marketing website sets no cookies of its own — no tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies. Netlify may set strictly necessary cookies for hosting and security functions (load balancing, bot mitigation); these are not used for analytics or advertising.
Certificate and Race Data
FleetEdge analyzes rating-certificate data and published race results. ORC certificates are public documents issued by national rating authorities: they record the measured characteristics of rated boats — hull geometry, rig dimensions, stability — together with the certificate's own velocity predictions. Because certificates are part of the public rating record, they identify the boat and, in some fields, its registered owner. FleetEdge's analytical framework keys on the boat — sail numbers and certificate references — not on personal names, and this site does not publish owner names.
Race results used by FleetEdge are the published results of ORC- and IRC-sanctioned events, as released by the organizing authorities and scoring platforms of those events. These results are part of the public record of sanctioned competition and may include the names of boats, owners, or skippers as the organizers published them; FleetEdge's analytics reference boats, not people.
For IRC-rated boats, FleetEdge uses the publicly available hull dimensions from IRC certificates — length, beam, draft, and displacement ratio. It never reads IRC TCC values, handicap calculations, or proprietary IRC rating data.
Contact Information
When visitors contact SailrScience through the email address provided on the contact page, the information they provide (name, email address, message content) is used solely to respond to the inquiry. It is shared only inside SailrScience Technologies, LLC and SailrScience, LLC, except with the service providers that operate SailrScience's email and hosting on its behalf, and where disclosure is required by applicable law. Contact information is not added to marketing lists without explicit consent, and is retained for as long as needed to respond to the inquiry and follow up, after which it is archived for record-keeping or deleted on request.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the information SailrScience holds about you by contacting contact@sailr.science. SailrScience responds within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
International Users
SailrScience serves an international audience across the Mediterranean, Baltic, and global ORC and IRC racing community. SailrScience is established in the United States, and information submitted to it is processed in the United States. The practices described on this page apply to all visitors, regardless of location.
