The crew ladder is the finishing ladder

In the Study of this cohort (fleet view as of 1 July 2026), the four boats with negative crew residuals — FORMULA X, MABELLE II, DIXI 5, EXCITER — are exactly the top four finishers. FORMULA X’s −25.4 s/nm crew residual against DIXI 5’s −10.0 is the regatta, in one number. The product’s Headlines agree: FORMULA X leads Comp & Time and Crew across the event cohort.

FORMULA X — she won it on the water

The platform gave her nothing her sister-ships didn’t have: near-identical certificate ratings across the cluster. The Study attributes the win to the best crew residual in the cohort — −25.4 s/nm — on top of the best race delta (−14.6). The boat view carries the diagnostic behind that attribution.

The decomposition methodology is under on-site validation, and a crew-weight refinement is in flight in the physics model — readouts are directional and say so.

XBOX — same platform, deep in the fleet

The fourth Xr-41 is the experiment’s control: same hull, same rig family, a near-identical certificate rating — and a +37.1 s/nm crew residual in the Study that left her deep in the fleet. Across four identical platforms the finishing spread tracks the crew column, not the certificate. The +37.1 (positive = pace given away) is the versioned Study’s figure; the App’s crew-dimension decomposition of the same boat — a different estimator — tells the same story, last of the twelve.

One campaign, decomposed

Tallinn handed the Team Diagnostic a natural experiment: four Xr-41 sister-ships in the same class, the same hull held constant four times over, so the crew layer stands isolated. This is the winner’s boat view — the campaign read as what the boat gave, what the conditions gave, and the crew-execution layer underneath the Class B title. For FORMULA X, the decomposition puts the win in the crew layer, not the rating; the figures live in the cards below, cited to the versioned Study.

Where it placed

On the record, FORMULA X won Class B at the 2025 ORC World Championship in Tallinn — the lead boat of the four-sister-ship Xr-41 cluster that took 1st, 2nd, and 4th in Class B with the same hull held constant. In the versioned Study (fleet view as of 1 July 2026), the win sits in the crew layer: a crew residual of −25.4 s/nm — best of the sister-ships (DIXI 5: −10.0) — on top of the best race delta, −14.6 s/nm, with near-identical certificate ratings across the sister-ships. Sister-ship XBOX (DEN 41) carried a crew residual of +37.1 s/nm and finished deep — the same hull, the opposite crew layer.
